Using videos as a marketing platform is one of the most effective ways of reaching out to your target audience. There are no qualms about that.
Remember that we humans are visual beings (meaning: we are easily affected by what we see). Being so, it would be useful if we are able to take advantage of that human trait and use it for our business campaigns.
Fortunately, in the digital age we are now in, videos for marketing has become an available – and affordable – option that we can use for our intended purposes. And what bigger name is there (when it comes to videos) than YouTube, right?
Take note though: using YouTube for effectively communicating to your market and for making your message known is not really as easy as you may think. After all, even if you’ve made a YouTube video that could win you an Oscar – fact of the matter is: if no one sees it, then you have a big problem. With that in mind, let’s discuss some tips on how you can increase your YouTube views – and increase your marketability:
Tip #1: Be Catchy
Just like in all other marketing procedures – you will need to catch the interest of your target audience, most especially if you want to encourage them to take a look at what you got. In other words, you must ensure that your YouTube channel and videos have interesting titles or names that can actually catch people’s attention.
Note: aside from creating a YouTube channel or video title that’s catchy – it would likewise be helpful if your channel name is somehow related to your niche or industry. This will ensure that you are attracting the right people or audience. So, if your video is about phones – then try to include the word “phone” in the video title (so that things don’t get too confusing for your intended viewers).
Tip #2: Don’t Underestimate Meta Data
Yes, filling in Meta Data such as video description, title and tags can be a bit boring. However, boring does not mean unimportant. In fact, this may even be the key to your YouTube Channel’s longevity!
Note: always make sure to include an accurate and well-written description, title and tags of your videos. This will not only help your viewers understand what the video is all about – but it will also make your channel more appealing to search engines (which can result to increased viewership).
Tip #3: Create Thumbnails for Your Videos
Thumbnails will give your viewers a glimpse as to what’s in store. As it is, make sure to choose interesting thumbnails for your intended audience. This will not only make your videos viewer-friendly, but search engines will love them too.
Note: make sure that your thumbnails are interesting, but are also related to your actual video. Otherwise, people might get discouraged and this won’t be good for your video marketing efforts.
Tip #4: Use Subtitles
This tip can come in handy most especially if you are distributing “how to” videos or are trying to give out a marketing message.
Note: sometimes, people would prefer to read what you want to say, instead of just listening. So, to be safe – it would be wiser to get the best of both worlds.
Tip #5: Be Consistent
In order for your YouTube marketing campaigns to be successful, you must not only focus on short-term success (one-time viewership) – but long-term viewership as well.
Note: it would be useful if you are able to create videos on a regular basis (making use of the proper optimization strategies and techniques as noted above) – and release them on a specific and regular schedule. This will encourage people to keep coming back for more, ultimately allowing your YouTube channel to not only gain momentum – but long-term and loyal viewers at the same time.
