3 Critical Steps To Successful Strategic Internet Marketing

What if there was a magic marketing bullet? A guarantee that every time you promoted your product or service – as long as you followed these strict guidelines, success was sure to be yours. Would that interest you? Would that information change your business, and in fact change your life? You could almost print money on demand. All you would have to do is apply the marketing solution and ‘bam’ new business. You could afford that new sports car, larger house, European vacation. Life would be awesome!

Ok so now smack yourself, because that’s a load of you know what… There is NO magic marketing bullet that can do all that. If you think there is though, boy do I have some affiliate offers that I’d love to share with you!

Seriously though, marketing does have fundamental steps behind it that you should be following. If followed, your marketing results will continuously improve and chances are you’re not doing them right now. Take a look at this short video (about 12 minutes) and write the 3 steps down. In the video we discuss the 3 critical steps that anyone who is focussed on a strategic internet marketing strategy should employ. The reality is, these three steps should be strictly adhered to regardless of the type of marketing – online or offline. So to sum up, the steps are…

1 – Set your marketing goals

Goals are not to be treated as some far off distant possibility. Rather they should be calculated much like a chess match. Each move a step towards a smaller goal. When each of the goals are formulated, you will have constructed your funnel.

2 – Establish your marketing strategy

Regardless of the type of marketing you do, these are just channels. One channel is not as good as the next, and certainly one size does not fit all.

3 – Measure and refine utilizing web analytics

I know I’m definitely preaching, and frankly for good reason. This is consistently the most underestimated step and the most poorly executed one that I see with small business today. Everything you spend time, money or resources on, in marketing your business should be measured and held to accountability. That’s not to say that all efforts both financial and not are meant to directly generate revenue, but that they should encompass a goal. A step in the funnel. Remember, don’t do a thing online unless you’re measuring it!
